We had someone install them for us, so I have no idea how hard it was to install, but they look JUST LIKE wood, and give the room a very warm feel. We love them!

An easy process, step by step (Dec 18, 2012)
Since we lived in our present house we always felt that something was missing, particularly in the dining room. My wife comes from a French family whose house had traditional wooden beams throughout. We decided to try to recreate a bit of that old country environment by placing beams above our dinning area. Faux Wood Beams seemed to be our best option. We ordered our beams based on the on-line catalog. They arrived promptly, and we immediately set about to unpack them and begin preparations. To our surprise, we were able to put them up in less time that we had anticipated. We promised each other that we would not reveal to people (outside the immediate family) that they were fake. They looked so real that no one, no one guessed that they were faux beams. When my son's girlfriend visited the house we asked her if she saw anything different in the dinning room. She could not say. When we told her that we had beams installed, she said that she thought they had always been a part of the original construction. Faux beams were certainly the right choice. We could not be happier with our purchase.

Fauxwoodbeams; Realistic, An Affordable Alternative & Easy To Install (Dec 7, 2012)
As one of the former interior designers for the TV show "Man Caves" on the DIY Network, I am used to working with several of the companies amazing products. It is very impressive how natural and life like each product is and with the easy install it keeps the job affordable whether you need to hire someone or can do it yourself. With this last install for a client of mine, a helpful suggestion, if you are putting two identical beams next to one another, reverse one so that you don't notice the identical grain of the wood. Having them look slightly different will keep them looking more realistic! Good luck & happy designing!

Perfect! (Aug 27, 2012)
easy to order, easy to install...they looks great!! No one can believe they're not real timber beams!! Customer service is very helpful....beams were delivered to my door in perfect condition with excellent packaging. Directions for install were as easy as 1-2-3. Highly recommended. Freight was a little pricey but when you see the size of them and how well they are packaged for shipping you'll understand why they have to come on a truck!

I would recommend this product to anyone (Jul 31, 2012)
We recently remodeled a home. I have always liked the look of a wood beam and wanted one for this house. We installed a faux wood beam in our family room and it is one of my favorite features of the house. It is one of the first things you see when you walk in. Everyone who comes over notices it, loves it, and is shocked when I tell them that it is not real wood. It looks so real. I am completely happy with it and love it.

BEST PRODUCT ON THE MARKET (Jul 13, 2012)
These products are incredibly authentic. Very natural and realistic. You can’t tell the difference between these and the real things even from inches away. Me and my buddy did the entire job in less then three hours. The best part is how your beams bring a room to life. What a product!

Houseboat ceiling (Jun 14, 2012)
We bought these beams to give a tropical feel to our houseboat ceiling. We are building this boat from ground up. We thought long and hard of what we could do besides the standard “shiny white” ceiling you see in most boats. I had the idea of beams; did an internet search and wha-la. We are very pleased, as these beams gave us the look we wanted. The only reason I gave them a "4" is we had a devil of a time getting beams to butt up against each other enough to cover the seams. The roughness of the "Timber" beam makes that a near impossible task. We did cut off the ends before butting them up. Because we only have 8ft ceilings and were dealing with some ceiling light placement issues and a small hallway we were limited to the 2 3/4" high x 10ft beams. We had a couple 25ft runs that required 3 beams for each run. We also have not been able to get the seam covers to stick to the beams. We tried all kinds of glue products including the recommended glue and even placed 20 thumb tacks to hold till glue dried and still they popped off. We left that project for another day while we work on other projects on the boat. Despite those hurdles we LOVE the product and are glad we bought them. We used them in the entire 800sf boat. P.S. The website is outstanding…easy to use and appreciated how the priced changed as you picked sizes. Here are a couple pictures.

GREAT PRODUCT! (Apr 18, 2012)
NO DOUBT ABOUT THE PRODUCT FROM THE START. AM REMODELING ENTIRE INTERIOR OF HOUSE AND WOULD HAVE LOVED TO USE MORE BUT I PAID MORE FOR SHIPPING THAN I DID THE BEAMS AND HAD TO GO TO THE FREIGHT CO TO PICK IT UP. GUESS THIS IS DUE TO IT BEING RESIDENTIAL, DONT KNOW. AS FAR AS THE PRODUCT AND EASE OF INSTALLATION GOES, I BELIEVE IT GOES UNMATCHED AND ONE NEEDS VERY LITTLE BUILDING EXPERIENCE TO INSTALL THIS PRODUCT WITH YOUR INSTRUCTIONS, WEB SITE VIDEOS, ETC. AS I STATED BEFORE, WISH I COULD HAVE DONE MORE.

We have never been dissapointed in your products. (Jan 9, 2012)
We have been in the house renovation business for several years and frequently use your ceiling beams. In the right setting they have always come through with just the right look. We have attached some pics of the beams in our latest restoration but we also have them in our own house. Hopefully you have also gained because the beams are always the #1 hit at the open houses. Hope you'll always be there.

The club room at the Plantation. (Jun 27, 2011)
Since I live on a golf course, I built a "man cave" golf club room to represent a scottish golf club. Leather chairs, reclaimed barnwood tables, 55" tv, and golf memorabilia. The ceiling was angled on both sides with the top flat. Your timber beams running from angle to angle finished in walnut enhances the old world look with the walls and ceiling painted in dark brown and contrasting lighter brown for the ceiling. The beams blend in so well and just appear to be original and part of the structure. Shipping and packaging was superb.

Thanks so much for a great product!! (Feb 16, 2011)
Wow. I absolutely love these beams. I did have a carpenter put them up as I didn’t know how to get the angles on the “freestanding” beams. He loved putting them up and what a great product this is! I know many people just love these and they are completely right!! I want to put them all over my house now. My husband walked in when the carpenter was finished and said that it didn’t even look like our house. The pics don’t do it justice Thanks so much for a great product!!

This is a great product! (Jan 26, 2011)
We are very pleased with the beams. They are light weight without looking fake. The only problem we encountered was that we ordered a matching mantel and the stain really didn't match (they came from different locations). It is a great mantel, just wasn't the same color of "walnut."

Nice new look (Jul 24, 2010)
I purchased raw beams, so I had to stain them myself. I followed the directions and it turned out good. I used peanut colored paint as a base coat and a translucent deck stain to finish. I strongly recommend letting the stain dry outside for at least a week. The fumes can give you a headache. The paint and stain comes off fairly easily after it dries, so some touch up might be necessary after mounting.

Rustic and Real (Jun 6, 2010)
Perfect for the family room's vaulted ceiling. Real beams were NOT an option because of extreme weight and this is a remodel. Hired a contractor to put them up, and they look like the real thing! Were a little more difficult to install because of length 20ft, and height of ceiling. It took 4 men on various size ladders to lift and anchor. Shipping and delivery was even better than expected and arrived in perfect condition.

A pleasant surprise (Feb 20, 2010)
I am extremely pleased with the beams I purchased. They look very real and were EXACTLY as described. This was my first time buying anything like this on line so I wasn't sure if they would look authentic or how easy they would be to install. easy to install, gorgeous looks (Nov 23, 2009)
The beams arrived on time and with no damage at all. Installation of 2 beams took me 1 day, with the help of my wife. The room now looks great ! One thing to take into consideration during installation is that the design of the beams are identical so they could look to fake if the pattern is repeated in sequence. It's best to flip flop them.

Better Than The Real Thing (Oct 24, 2009)
We installed the faux wood beams in a home theater, and they look great! Even close up, they have the look of a real aged timber beam. But since they weight only a few pounds, lifting them up into position on the ceiling was a snap; would have been impossible with a real wood beam that size.

Looks great (May 9, 2009)
Product is excellent. However much more difficult than website suggests. Requires a lot of fitting and adjustments to install. Korbels have to be adjusted for imperfect wall angles, beams for fit to ceiling. Korbels also don't fit smoothly to beam so require some careful shaping to make it look good.
Final product looks great however. Haven't finished instlalling them all yet. Probably very easy for professional carpenters but little more work for do-it-yourself folks.

All aspects of this product were as good as stated or better. (Jan 21, 2009)
I was 60 years old when I installed approximately 200 feet of the Walnut Timber Beams (BD-20A & BD-20B) in my ceiling. The ceiling ranged from 10 feet to 22 feet high. Working off of a scaffold and following the included directions I was able to complete the installation in two days. I used only the tools I had including a table saw, circular saw, reciprocal saw and knives. No special tools were needed. It was easy! Anyone with a background in building anything can do this! Most important - we have had a multitude of guests in our home and not a single one guessed that the beams were made of foam. Our subcontractor even brings prospective clients to our home! We even held a three foot piece within 3-4 feet of them and no one guessed! This stuff is awesome!

Astoundingly gorgeous, makes the room "pop"! (Jan 14, 2009)
We just finished installing the Faux Wood Beams in our master bedroom, and we can't stop looking at them: they are astoundingly gorgeous and make the room "pop"! We have a master bedroom, 18x24, with a coffered ceiling, that was nice, but just needed something more. We began looking for options on the internet, when we found your website. We liked what we saw, and were particularly impressed with how much your faux beams looked like actual wood. Without ever seeing your work firsthand, we decided to place an order and take our chances, with the assurance of your 30 day return policy, if, after we inspected the actual product, we did not like the way it looked. We took measurements, calculated the size and quantities needed, and placed our order. We were impressed how fast our order came, and were shocked when we open the first box. "Oh, my God! Look at these! I can't believe how beautiful they look!" They really are beautiful, and look like stained, hewn beams. They don't look like something fake at all, they actually look real, and not just real, but beautiful! The texture, the color, all the inconsistencies of actual wood, knots, grain, light and dark colors. Just absolutely gorgeous!
Because we have a coffered ceiling, we had to spend some time getting all the angles calculated in cutting the beams to fit. Measurements probably took the longest time. The installation videos you provide on your site were very helpful, and the entire job took about 12 hours, including caulking and clean up. We started with the center four beams, then installed the sides, and finally the corbels. We are very excited, and can't wait to show our bedroom off to our family and friends.
Our next project will be the formal dining room, which we will be applying the same treatment to.
Thank you so very much for the great product. We are extremely satisfied, and look forward to doing business with you again. We will recommend your site every chance we get.

Excellent product - looks real and simple to install! (Jan 10, 2009)
I had to hide an unsightly ceiling beam in my kitchen that didn't go all the way across the room. I was able to disguise it and extend it to make it look like a real timber support beam. This stuff cuts like butter, is feather-light and incredibly easy to install. It also takes regular stain and putty and looks completely real. No one believes me if I say they're not real. It blends beautifully with the real wood columns and iron accents in my kitchen. I like it so much I want to do our entire cathedral ceiling in it!

Everyone is amazed that my beams are fake! (Dec 22, 2008)
My wife and I have always wanted wood beams in our house so when we did a total remodel we thought this was the perfect time. We were so shocked when the bids came in for real timber beams that we thought we would never have beams in our house, that's when I found your website. Your site was easy to use and the pictures showed us exactly what we were going to get, it couldn't be any easier! We entertain a lot and are always getting compliments on the beams in our kitchen and it fun to see the looks on everyone's face when we tell them that they're fake. You all have an amazing product and the installation couldn't be easier. We are now going to finish the basement so stay tuned for pictures of more beams and some of your faux stone.

We love the beams for their realistic look and because of the light weight we can use them anywhere and at any point during the process of construction. We featured them in our Luxury Home Tour entry and they were very well received by the 4,000 plus guests who toured the home. No one believed they were not real. Absolutely B-e-a-utiful! (Nov 5, 2008)
The faux wood beams were the way to go for me. The first reason I looked into them was I live in So. Cal and I wasn't sold on having a heavy wood beam on the ceiling and the chance of it not holding up in an earthquake. Then what really sold me was the price and my contractors price to install was affordable because the product is so light he could do it with just one person. When the project was complete everyone complimented on how beautiful it was and no one even knows they are FAUX!

The beams and mantle arrived in perfect condition, were very easy to stain, and were a snap to install with basic household tools. People are totally shocked when I tell them they are foam replicas. This is a great affordable product.

We used your beam in our remodel-it's awesome! (Nov 4, 2008)
Check out My Big Amazing Renovation show on HGTV in November, 2008. Our house in Boulder, Colorado is featured, and there's a piece on the faux wood beam we installed. We love it!

Excellent service! (Nov 2, 2008)
We ordered 4 beams of which two were damaged by the shipping company. Customer service was very helpful in shipping out the two damaged beams right away. The beams were damaged 4 more times by the shipper. Each time new beams were sent out the next day for replacement.
