Install Axed beam mantels on a fireplace or wall to instantly add rural appeal to your home. We use molds taken of a real axe-hewn log to make these pieces, thus allowing the genuine chop marks show through.
Axed mantels are available pre-stained in Standard or Premium color options. You may also choose Unfinished to stain or paint yourself, or install as is to add a raw lightness to your design. Whatever the finish, all have the rustic, just-chopped-it-yourself look for a unique and personal feel.
Made of polyurethane, these faux wood mantels are more durable than real wood— they stand up against daily wear and tear and are not susceptible to cracks or splintering. They can also be custom-cut to your desired size so that they arrive at your home in the perfect dimensions, saving you time and frustration.
Note: Our faux mantels are durable but are for decorative use only. The mantels are not meant to support heavy weight. As they are handmade, measurements may vary slightly.
Note: Axed mantels may have screws embedded below the surface. We recommend using a hand saw (not power tools) when cutting these beams. You may find these screws with a stud finder. Barron Designs is not responsible for any bodily harm or damage to your equipment. Click Here to view instruction on finding screws in beams.

Fireplace Mantle(Feb 27, 2015)
We are very happy with the way our new mantle looks. It was light and easy to install. It looks real, in fact my sister came over before it was installed and my husband said give me a hand and lift the other end, she thought she was going to lift a real piece of wood and was shocked when she lifted it with ease. I opted to get the unfinished and stained it to match our other woods. I am considering getting the ceiling beams. I definitely recommend this product.
You have a wonderful product(Jan 8, 2015)
I just wanted to forward a few pictures of our fireplace makeover project. Thanks so much. You have a wonderful product. It was very easy to install. We looked into a lot of different options for a mantel and decided to order one from your web site based on appearance, ease of installation, time frame and cost. We couldn’t be happier with it! Thanks so much.
