Corinthian Style Pergolas have traditional Corinthian columns which are named for the Greek town of Corinth. Their ornate petal-like design became very popular throughout Roman architecture for civic and residential structures. In ancient formal buildings, Corinthian columns were sometimes thinner than Doric and Ionic columns to highlight their elaborately carved shafts.
