Announcer: “Welcome back to the noise and excitement which is the International Home Builder’s Show here in Orlando, Florida. I’m Natalie Allen. A convention 100,000 people strong, which show cases products from manufactures both well known and less so. You cannot escape the focus here on all things green, including some environmentally healthy new twists on some old ideas.”
Steve Barron: “Faux beams are a synthetic wood product.”
Announcer: “These green beams are made of molded high density polyurethane. They contain no formaldehyde, they’re light weight and easy to install.”
Steve: “Faux beams are used both interior and exterior. They can withstand sun, water, birds. No pests will have any interest in this product.”
Announcer: “Not only are they low or no maintenance, choosing faux beams could save you money.”
Steve Barron: “If you have to order a real wood beam, an authentic hand hewn beam, it would cost about $1000 a beam, but our beams, they range about $200 to $300 each.”
Announcer: “Buying faux wood may also save a tree. “
Steve Barron: “What makes our pecky cypress beam green is that this is an endangered species of wood. It’s being over harvested. And, what we’re doing is we’re saving trees by providing it in this polyurethane beam. If people want this , they can purchase it through us and save the trees.”
Announcer: “And there’s nothing “faux” about that.” |
