Description of Custom Reclaimed Barn Siding Beams
Barn siding wood beams are made from the siding of old barns. The boards we use are 100% reclaimed siding obtained from barns across the USA. They were generally made from pine or fir. They are aged with nature's touch, creating a beautiful weathered patina.
At Each piece of timber is hand selected to color match your decor. They are constructed in a unique way. The board with the most character is placed on the bottom portion of the box beam, so that it is truly beautiful when seen in your home.
Note: All our box beams are made from authentic reclaimed wood. All are unique and may contain nail holes, distress marks, checking, or peg holes. Each beam will have an individual look due to warp, twist, wain and inconsistency of material thickness. This adds to the realism and character of authentic reclaimed wood. Due to the irregularities in reclaimed timbers, the inner dimensions of the box beams will vary. Barron Designs is not responsible for any bodily harm or damage to your equipment.
All material is authentic reclaimed lumber from turn of the century buildings. By using reclaimed lumber, we conserve our natural resources and preserve a piece of American History. All material is hand selected and made with close attention to details. The wood comes from barns, grain buildings and warehouses. The majority of the wood comes in lengths from 14' to 16'. Occasionally it will reach lengths in excess of 20' but this is extremely rare. All surfaces will be rough saw and have beautiful patina and interesting character marks. These marks will create each piece to have a unique look. Nail holes, peg and post holes, worm holes, cracks and other distress marks will be present in all sides. Due to its authenticity, lengths over 12' may require a saw tooth joint. Our goal is to make these saw toothjoints look as authentic as possible. They are part of the interesting story behind the wood itself. Saw tooth joints were used to join timber so they would span the entire length of these majestic buildings of the past.
